I have had my Xonar since June and I just noticed that there is a constant static/crackling sound with my headphones. My graphics card is very close to my xonar because the PCI slot below it is damaged and this one is the only one that works. I noticed when the fan on the graphics card is spinning faster the static turns into a buzzing. Is there any way to remedy this without getting a new card?

thanks

You could try to build some improvised shielding. Cut a matching piece of tinfoil, cover both sides with insulating tape to prevent short-circuits and slide it between the Xonar and GPU :)

I don't know if it would work, but there is probably nothing else you can do without buying new soundcard.

BTW, is the GPU getting enough cooling with this Xonar sitting just below it?

Despite the fact the xonar is blocking about 60% of the fan the temps haven't really changed. 37c idle and 60 - 70c on load depending on the weather.

I will also try that idea you mentioned if I can find some electrical tape. thanks
