Having roommates I'm always interested in new hp-audio gear for the PC gamer (an increasingly vanishing species).

I don't see how that DAC/AMP can be very appealing to console gamers if it doesn't have optical input.

It's being bundled with a PC motherboard, so I doubt being appealing to console gamers was a consideration in it's design.
