You're right. Its a luxury toy and it's better to cool down and relax. Unless something nasty happens with it, my "testing" time it's finished.
Now, let's enjoy some music and forget about it 🧘.

Nice to know...
I left a message with A&K, via their website on Thursday (Apr. 1st), and on Friday (Apr. 2nd) I received a phone call from an A&K rep in California. He was very helpful, and wanted so much to help me solve my album art problem. Since I had already sent my SR25 back for an exchange (identical SR25), I now have a number to call for help if the new SR25 behaves the same way.
That was so refreshing to have received their call of help! Definitely adds some shine to the company I'm purchasing from!

Have you ever tried to delete some music right out of the SR25? I tried, but every time when I turn the SR25 back on, they all come back. I have to delete it with the computur. That's a waste of time.

Yes, actually I have, and it deleted permanently. I was trying all kinds of stuff when I was messing around with the album art. I truly like the SR25, and when I receive my replacement (which the rep said would behave the same way my first one did) I will do everything possible to have all the artwork display, or bust!

Unfortunately here in the UK, they don't give that quick response. I'm very new to these things. I sent some emails and messages, got an answered that wasn't helpful, and after a long while after I have bought it. So I was afraid to contact them again.

I have to redeem myself here. After internalizing that this small guy have very restricted rules (far from an open android device) to avoid, I think, unpleasant surprises and, more I play with it more I love these restrictions that translates in a very simple and logical GUI indeed. So, if I stick to the AK native music player and to Tidal (latest version apk) for ocasional streaming and, most importantly, to build my Playlists to offline use (yes, Playlists are really the way to go offline since it gives no problems at all contrary to Albums offline!) this little one is really amazing. As I told and hope AK read my email, it would be very nice to use the Home button to switch between the AK music player and one of the user installed apps (in my case, Tidal). Easy to implement and a much easier way to arrive to our preferred installed app.
And no case for me. A case in this stylish device it would be like cover a piece of art with some plastic stuff!
Can't stop listening to it.

Peace 🖖

Like it is now, and unless I didn't figure it out yet, if I'm playing a file using the AK player and after I want to play something on Tidal, I need to go to the A menu, find services and then press Tidal. Not so practical, specially because the screen is tiny (which I like) and my fingers are not lady fingers 😁.

. As I told and hope AK read my email, it would be very nice to use the Home button to switch between the AK music player and one of the user installed apps (in my case, Tidal).

This isn't exactly what you are looking for but if you are using the APK Tidal app once you have started it you can always go back to it from the main player (homepage) by sliding your finger from the top and down and you will see the Tidal app player shortcut there. Then you can go back and forth between the main player and the Tidal player by pressing home to go to the A&K player and sliding down and pressing Tidal to go back to the Tidal player.

Tried it but, if I stick with the AK player for a while (I cannot say how long), the Tidal app tab will disappear and the only way to go there again it's via A/Services/Tidal.
Hope they can implement the Home Button switch (page1/page2).

Made a battery run test: 20 hours sharp playing FLAC 48/24, balanced @ 87 volume. Not bad at all 😃.

Cheers.

The UK team has set up a new website with new support and contact info. I would suggest checking it out if you have not already - https://www.astellkern.co.uk/

Confirmed again.
Both the AK player and Tidal were open. I could switch between both: when Tidal was active, pressing the Home button put me at the AK player. From here if I want Tidal again, just swipe down from the top, Tidal will be there, just press it and it will go to the Homepage. Until here, nice. The problem it's that, if SR25 stay inactive for a while (and yes, the timer at mine it's Always ON, so no shutdown), Tidal will close and the only way to go to Tidal again it's by A/Services/Tidal.
If someone could replicate this it would be nice.
So, I will repeat it again like a kid until eventually someone at AK read this: please make the SR25 with 2 (I don’t ask more like a real Android device) Homepages that you can switch by pressing the Home Button. The main Homepage it will be exactly the one that we have now, the secondary one will be one with the widget of a Music app installed at Services (in my case, and for now, it would be Tidal). Can you imagine how easier would be access your preferred installed Music app just by pressing the Home button?
The implementation of this it's really easy, c'mon AK! Just make it happen in a near firmware.

It sounds like you are looking for more of an Android smartphone experience. AK uses a highly customized version of Android OS that removes most of the bloatware that does not directly affect music playback. I will share your request with the dev team, but what you are suggesting may not be possible with AK's customized version of Android.

Thanks Jason.
Yes I now they use a very customized Android version and for me it's great. No problems with that. The simpler the better, that is just great, really. After all it should be, imo, a dedicated device to handle music. But, since we have the possibility to install some very specific apps (see Open APP Service's Supported) why not? This does not detract from the AK simplistic philosophy, which I appreciate, it's easy to implement and I bet none of the AK users will be offended to have this feature 🙂.
Just imagine, instead of all those steps to arrive to your preferred music app in a tiny screen, just tap once at the home button.

It's a good suggestion. I will pass it on with the feature requests I share with the dev team.
