Hello Jason,

Quick one: are you aware whether DAC filters will be implemented in the SR25 in future firmware updates?

Reason for the question: Luxury & Precision W2 uses the same DACs as the SR25 and offer this possibility. It would be nice to see A&K offering similar possibilities, as well as appear competitive in this regard

Thanks!

As far as I knew, Cirrus Logic never made their DAC filters available. This is a new. I will pass it onto to the dev team.

Update on Tidal app:

Thank you for your patience over the last month as Astell&Kern’s engineering and software development teams have been working hard to implement updates to the embedded Tidal app. As this is third-party software that needs to be integrated into more than a dozen different players, it has taken a bit of time to complete and test the updated firmware.

The new firmware is in the final stages of review by our partners and should be available within the next week or two once validated. We will begin rolling out the updated firmware model by model, so we ask that you please be patient as you wait for your model to receive the update. Please follow our social media pages, your regional dealers and distributors for additional updates on the firmware release.

More information can be found here - https://www.astellnkern.com/eng/con...ew.asp?search=&word=&idx=1000718&page=1&no=55

Thank you again for being part of the Astell&Kern family.

Thanks fir the update Jason.

With Apple Music going Lossless HiRes soon for no extra cost, I’m not sure I care so much about Tidal any more.

Totally agree! I just hope the new versions of Apple Music will work flawlessly with the SR25. I have used the same version since I bought the Sr25 without problems but I have not updated to the latest versions that have given problems to many users of A&K.

Hi Luis, what version of Apple Music are you using? I have tried several times to initiate Apple Music after adding it to my SR25, and it starts up and crashes each time. Can't get passed that.
Thanks, Tom

Hmmmmmm, well I assume Apple would have to update the .apk version to one that supports streaming the new formats. That’s the first hurdle, and then of course it needs to be stable on the SR25…

I can't recall when I last updated the .apk on my SR25, but it’s version 3.2.2, haven’t had any issues with it.

v 3.3.2 or v. 3.4.0 work best.

Hi trobison, mine is 3.2.2. I have had no problems with that one since something like 10 months. Works flawlessly but of course you will not get any new features including hires. Now I am hoping to try the new hires but worried it will not work well with the SR25.
Many have reported that the newer versions have a lot of problems. As Neweymatt says lets hope the new one is stable. It will certainly have to be a new .apk version. There is a new version coming to all IOS products in June. According to Apple the hires will come to Iphone with version 14.6. , we are presently in version 14.5.1. We will have to wait for the new .apk. for the SR25.
I have been an Apple Music user since ages ago. I started with Ipods and Itunes.I have a family suscription and will keep it in any case. The hisres news for Apple Music without additional cost is music to my hears! Last year I tried Tidal and Deezer. I liked better Deezer, I must say. Nevertheless, I regularly get very good offers for Tidal and end up subscribing for some periods. When the offers run out I stop the subscription. Now probably a price war will start after Apple’s move.

Indeed, 3.4.0 working OK. This is currently the newest version which is working on SR25.

I hope so. Just activated 3 months free family plan to check it soon, but without newest app version...

Anyone know if problems with versions >3.4.0 was routed to Apple support? Maybe they did not know about this issue...

Hey all...new to this forum, and I have a question concerning the SR25 with Qobuz vs Tidal 'offline' album listening. I first tried the side-loaded Tidal app with a free trial and downloaded ~347 albums for 'offline' listening. The app was very responsive, and download times were very quick for the 'offline' albums. I wanted to do a test with Tidal vs Qobuz on features etc....so I uninstalled Tidal, side loaded Qobuz, and downloaded the same ~347 albums for 'offline' listening in Qobuz. The download times for the offline albums in Qobuz takes MUCH longer to complete...but I have succeeded. I am now noticing that when I go to play an 'offline' album, it takes around 20 seconds from clicking the album to when the album artwork and play button loads. When I hit the play button, it takes an additional 45 seconds before the track starts playing. Is there a major resource issue between Tidal and Qobuz apks, or am I experiencing some unique issue? I really wanted to go with Qobuz, as I am planning on buying albums for my collection and listening to offline albums to find new music....but this app experience is killing my battery and patience. (****It seems that all the additional loading times associated with Qobuz are definitely having a major negative affect of battery life as well****)

Thanks for any insights...

Joey

Thanks for replying, Luis! I don't know what's happened since the last time I tried, and succeeded, installing xapk on my SR25, and subsequently deleted it. But I can no longer install xapk on my SR25. I go through the process of installing via drag and drop from a finder window to the "Service Folder", and everything looks normal, but it isn't showing up on the SR25. The only things that show up in "Services" are Tidal, Deezer, & V-Link. There is no longer a horizontal division frame, and xapk, or anything I load into the Services Folder (like Apple Music) is not showing up. Has me scratching my head.

Download .apk files instead of .xapk.
You don't need to uninstall app to install another one, just install both or more :)
