I use the 2.5mm line out to the SACD/CD inputs on my AVR. Sounds great.
I stand corrected. Thought I read somewhere the 2.5mm doesn't bypass the amp with Line Out....anyhoo... you would still need some kind of balanced cable, correct??

This is what I use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K1CY2VT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
NEVER use an adapter to go from 3.5mm unbalanced to 2.5/4.4 balanced. You can short out your DAP. This goes for any device, not just AK devices. Using an adapter to go from 2.5/4.4 to 3.5 is ok. To go balanced, you will need to replace the cables.
This is the post that was in my head about the 2.5mm line out. Not really related, but good to know!
Thanks! I have an Audiquest green 3.5mm to dual RCA, but I was looking for something XLR to send from the 2.5mm balanced to a balanced headphone amp.

Just got this player yesterday. My first AK cept for an iRiver 13 years ago (about the size of a matchbox). Purchased as a foil to my Shanling m6pro. Figured 25 would be more reference. Seems to be.
Lovely musicality. Cohesive and balanced.
Battery seems amazing.
All my album art appears without a hitch.
Edges are not sharp, only, well, edges.
Head bopping to some Greatful Dead last night, something I don’t usually do with daps.
Pairs great with VE Ely and EE ESR. Volt, less so. M6pro pairs wonderfully with Volt.
Most pleased!

There would be some problem in activating the line output on the AR25 and using the balanced 2.5 output to connect to a Primare P30 processor through a balanced 2.5> XLR cable indicating a voltage in balanced mode of 4V (last option in the AR25 of the four options possible)?.

https://www.primare.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/P30-User-Guide.pdf

My doubt is because I do not know if an output voltage of 4v can harm my preamp.

This is my 50cm cable.

Unbalanced 0.7V
Balanced 1.4V

Unbalanced 1V
Balanced 2V

Unbalanced 1.25V
Balanced 2.5V

Unbalanced 2V
Balanced 4V (my setting)

Thanks.

Is it possible to use any other streaming audio application other than Tidal via AK Connect?.

I see that despite having Qobuz installed on my mobile, the only one that appears to configure in AK Connect is Tidal.

I would like to be able to use Qobuz on the AR25 controlled from AK Connect on my phone.

This may be slightly different from what you want but you can use BubbleUPnP on your Android phone to stream Qobuz (and Tidal) to your SR25 via AK Connect. Just turn on AK Connect on your SR25 and then select the SR25 as the renderer using BubbleUPnP on your phone. If you have an iPhone, you can use mconnect Player.

I have Android 10 and also BubbleUPnP and MconnectLite installed on the phone. I have previously used BubbleUPnP with Qobuz, but not using the SR25 as a renderer. I will try what you indicate because I did not know.

Thanks a lot!.
yeah so farm connect is giving the most consistent results. Still it occasionally disconnect fro the sr25, but this is 100% the wifi on the sr 25 side petering out

2.5mm or 3.5mm can be used for line out.
Hi Jason,

I’m afraid to say that my SR25 is now having problems with 2.5 mm balanced. I have to keep moving the jack to make my earphones able to work both sides. Otherwise I lose my left earphone. Its worse when I’m walking. The socket seems a bit lose. I was very happy to have great experience with balanced cable, because it’s giving great sound quality I have ever had. But now I’m very sad. I have contacted AK customer service in the UK and hope they can fix this problem for me.
