Yes.
Perhaps, the problem, that happens with my unit, is different, although it has similar symptoms (overheating, then can't be turned on by usual holding of Power button, i.e. as if the battery was totally drained (which is not)).
My guess is that there is/are some bug(s) in software, that handles the music library (parses tags, sorts by Artists, Genres, etc.), and it reveals itself, when the library is bigger than N files + probably, some more intricate conditions. As a result of it, some process never ends during the Media Scan --> library is unavailable (constantly spinning circle in Main Menu --> Folder view) / overheating / shutdown.
Anyway, hopefully new FW will fix these stability issues.

No, that did not work on my SR15

Thanks Jason for the firmware news on the SR15

I have now replaced the SR15 with another A&K model.


Which model did you get? I am right now considering the same idea: upgrading, instead of battling onwards with the SR15

As an aside, I wonder if that is part of the thinking with SR15'S little gremlins, back at A&K HQ. Or is it just this hard to make a functional device?

Regarding the 1.33 update, my unit doesn’t have issues with powering on. I was briefly considering about selling my SR15, but after buying Audeze LCD-MX4 they make such a great pair I think I’ll keep it after all.

Mine is also bricking and not powering on. At first I thought I forgot to power off and needed charging but now identified that charge was 100% and turned off to try to turn back on and nothing. Now plugged into charger and multiple attempts fails to restart. Hoping will decide to come alive on charger at some point.

Guys (with the power on issue) replace the charging cable or try to use another charger. The charging protocol between the charger and device may fail to communicate properly for some unidentified reason (especially in deep charging state) leaving the device battery completely depleted which can be the origin of the issue. The same happens sometimes with phones as well. My one cent.

Hello SR15 owner. I too got the problem with powering on the SR15. I think it happens only when I leave the device on pause for over the Auto Power Off time-out. And for me, plugging the USB cable with the other end connected also work but not right away. You have to wait until the battery icon display on the SR15. At that time I can press the power button and the device will power up. The battery always have charge remaining.

I'm hoping that the new firmware will fix this annoying bug from an otherwise very good little DAP.

Any update on the firmware JASONNYC?

My SR15 doesn't connect any mobile with Ak connect, I can pair it but then do not connect the devices. I'm doing something wrong?
The ability to use AK Connect is one of the main reason I bought it, if doesn't work I have to send it back.

New firmware is supposed to be released Tuesday morning, 3/31 in Korea, which is late night here in the US tonight (3/30). I have not heard of any delay.

I was told XAPK support for the SR15 did not make it into this firmware, but will be included in the next firmware update scheduled for mid-April. I will share if there is a delay in release.

Not sure what you mean by "doesn't connect any mobile with AK Connect." Could you please explain what you are trying to do with AK Connect?
I'd like to use my mobile as LIBRARY and the SR15 as SPEAKER, however do no connects at all.
