Tidal Masters uses MQA, which our players currently do not support. We are looking into offering MQA in the future, but have no ETA on when it may be added. Once MQA is supported, Tidal Masters will be supported.

Now - my understanding is that Tidal Masters is only available using the desktop Tidal client - not mobile/portable as of yet ...

It is slowly making it's way out to portables. The ACTIVO CT10 hi res player, which is a collaboration with AK does Tidal Masters.

Tidal masters is available on many network streamers. My plan was to update my existing AK120 mk2 which i regularly use as a streamer (unfortunately NAS only). Looks like a Bluenote 2 might be the go here.

How does this compare to the Kann specs-wise? I'm still a newb at audio bits.

Try running a manual media scan. They may not have indexed correctly on the player.

Settings, system reset, Initialize media scan. If you have playlists created, make sure the clear playlists box is NOT CHECKED. It usually takes a few minutes, but can take up to 15 minutes depending on how many files are in internal and external memory.

    2 questions:

Anyone try this out with sensitive TOTL IEMs? Is there any hissing at all?

I took a look throught the manual to see if there was an option to adjust amp gain but didnt see it at all. Is this an option?

The Pioneer XDP-30R and the Onkyo DP-S1 portable Daps, which are exactly the same, stream Tidal Masters

Great review! Do you have an opinion on the balanced 2.5 vs 3.5 sound quality? I've used both, but for some reason am drawn to the 3.5 sound over the 2.5.....

well, at first impression, they seemed pretty similar to me. but I don't have my switch for A/B testing, probably with it I'll get more detailed impression
