As long as you have phones or IEMs that have extension into the low end, the se100 will provide it. It has great extension into the sub-low end. However, se100 won't add any low end to help with phones or IEMs that are shy of it.

I'm a bit of a basshead, and it has plenty for me thru Westone W80s.

I'm not sure why that wouldn't work. I have my SE100 connected to my Surface 4 Pro without any problems in MTP mode.

I find the T8IE MKII's have too much bass if they are pushed to far into my ears. I found this to occur with my SE100 and my AK70. I switched to spinfit tips (purchased separately) that work better for me than the tips that came installed originally on the T8IE MKII's. I have not tried the T8IE MKII's with the Comply foam tips that also came in the box. I do all my listening with the 2.5mm balanced output and find it better than the unbalanced output.

Also, thanks for all the internal hardware info on the SE100.

I think the reason is that the t8ie mkii's sound signature, which is tuned for more bass compare to Xelento.

strange thing happened to my se 100.. process sysytem not responding message..reboot problem temporarily disappears however music from sd card cannot be read..get unplayable format for all which is bemusing as it was working properly until this happened. anyone care to let me know what to do? will try and wipe cache etc and factory reset and see what happens.

still no joy..sd card wont be read now.. really frustrating this may need to return this
