I've been on the fence for quite some time but Roon Ready support has sealed the deal and my SP2000SS will arrive tomorrow. I'm somewhat disappointed to learn that Dignis cases are no longer available. Would have liked to pick one up to add a bit more protection than the stock case provides.

Thanks! Yeah, I took a look at Aliexpress and I might order a TPU case there but I'm a big fan of Valentinum on Etsy and I saw that he has this awesome looking case for SP1000M. I messaged him to see if he could make one for SP2000, if he can I'll probably order one.

I've just bought a SP2000, it's on running in at the mo, looking forward to listening to it properly after it's done its 5 days.
I am experiencing a WAV problem, my Albums have no artist names but all other data is present including album artwork (where it's available in the WAV music library). I choose/search music using Artist and that's a bit of a mess, basically unusable. Yes, the SP2000 plays WAV music but it appears unable to manage or present WAV music. I saw that WAV was included in the SP2000 specification and I didn't think as my 4 other DAP's all cope with WAV that the SP2000 would be any different! Silly me, so it seems.
My hi-fi dealer has very kindly offered to convert my modest music library to FLAC using his dbpoweramp programme but what do other SP2000 owners suggest/recommend for the future?
I tried dbpoweramp a few years back, had lots of red crosses when using the CD Ripper and buying another optical drive didn't resolve all these instances so I gave up. Is there a simpler FLAC programme which doesn't involve going to night school classes LOL (actually wouldn't mind going to classes to learn more but they aren't any available).
Part 2 of the WAV problem! Some of my current digital downloads are already in FLAC (luckily I wasn't able to choose WAV) so they won't be a problem in the future as I will always choose the FLAC option from now on but I still buy CD's for my DAPs so:
1. Is there an easier than dbpoweramp FLAC ripping/managing programme? I've found Switch Audio Converter Plus, is this easier/simpler than dbpoweramp, is it any good?
2. WMP offers FLAC as a rip option, whilst I assume the specialist FLAC programmes are better, what do others think about the easy option of my continuing to use WMP with its FLAC option?
Please don't say that dbpoweramp is easy to use, I read plenty of posts yesterday in the CD Ripper forum from 2020 & 2021 posted by dbpoweramp newbies who are struggling. Once you sort out the set-up & do's & don'ts then I'm sure that dbpoweramp is great to use, not sure I want to buy it again for the laptop I bought last July. And hilarious (not) that I ripped all my CD's & SACD's into WMP using WAV last July and here I am in March 2021 with a lovely new SP2000 that doesn't like WAV............
I use dbpoweramp and rip into WAV format for last couple years. I used to use FLAC format but changed for some reason. Anyway, I have zero problems with SP2k and wav files. All the info/artwork/etc. is there. I tried another ripping program for a while, can't remember which one, but it wasn't any less complicated than dbpoweramp.
Very interesting, thanks for the info. So it must be Windows Media Player + WAV that my SP2000 doesn't like? My hi-fi dealership had issues with WAV and their shop Roon system not displaying all the metadata, their inhouse expert in this field solved that problem by converting to FLAC using dbpoweramp. I bought db several years ago but had lots of problems with the CD Ripper, too many red crosses and buying another optical drive didn't resolve that problem. I read their forum yesterday and some poor sap said he was having problems with calibrating his optical drive, he'd tried 10 different CD's, another member told him it might take up to 40 different CD's before he would be able to calibrate his optical drive (I was lucky it only 6 CD's).
it happened to me two days ago. put the dap on pause! and realized it was still on in the morning.
Edit : But I know my Dap has became exceptional as it doesn't play anymore Hight RES files (DSD, DFF, MQA 385 MHz and so ...). It remains I listen to listen to MP3 files 320, 256
