I’m a bit wary of that DAC filter option. Dunno if the prior firmwares released had the AK4499 oversampling filters change behind the scenes hence the sonic differences between the releases

Good stuff. Probably a bit late to mention this now, but if you're in that area again it would be quite nice to have the option of using the AlbumArtist tag as well as the Artist tag for viewing albums like in uPnP servers like Asset and Minimserver.

Kidding aside, I have not come around to it. I have read the release notes, and based on those I do not expect any improvement with regard to the offline content.

Can somebody please tell me what “DAC filters” does and how it may affect my SQ which I’m loving right now if I upgrade. Thank you.

You can fine tune the sound, depending on what you are listening to and your preference.
