Guys I just bought my SP2000cu. Website states that this particular model has 6Vrms, but in settings, “line out” tab option provides 4Vrms max only... moreover, when you turn “line out” mode on, you are not able to control volume. Is it supposed to be like this? Help

6Vrms is Headphone output level (balanced, under no load), not Line Out. Haven't tested LO yet on SP2k, but typically the point of LO (the output of your DAC) is to connect it to external amp where you control the output volume.

For me, SP2000 is an upgrade over SP1000. So far my R2R2K sounded far better SP1000M, which sounded unnautral and congested compared to R2R2K.

I'm happy to report that 3.5mm jack of SP2000 is as good as its balance out, and I see no reason for going balance for IEM usage. I can say it is the only time I've thought of AK ever since my AK120 days.

If AK can pull off the same sound on a product the size of SP1000M size than we are talking. I really think just stick to one dac chip, use the extra space for keeping the amp section of SP2000M, now we are talking.

Hi, everyboy. I just wanna mention that there are different in tuning sound between demo and retail version (confirmed by Alex). And I also have a chance to compare my SS to both demo version at last AV show in my country. At same firmware version, demo has a thicker mid, blacker blackground, and stronger bass (sub, and mid) than retail version.

I assure you any demo version at a dealer or show are tuned exactly the same as a sealed retail unit. Only difference being units used for demo have 100+ hours of play time on then vs no play time on a sealed unit .

How terrible, you poor thing (only pulling your leg M8). The micro SD slot on my QP2R is spring loaded and when I took the card out to move it to my N8 Brass Black, the fracking card jumped 4 ft across the room, doh..............

I'm hearing a lot of mixed views on this dap. I have an sp1000 and am unsure about upgrading

I would say the majority of comments are wholly positive. Very few critical.
If you like the SP1K you will like SP2K a little more most likely.
As to should you upgrade well that is a question only you can answer.

My hiby r3 with mdr ex1000 sounds more natural funny ahh
  11. gazzington
Comicly I have the R3 and ex1000 set up!

Sorry just curious, whats your definition of natural?
Also give sp2k 100 hours atleast for settled.
Mine sound detail, holographic and liquid. Delicious.

Normally on AK lines people go for the copper version as it adds a little more warmth and naturalness, in SP2000 I recommend the SS, they really for me tuned this unit right.

No, I don't own it, but had a lot of headtime with it and if I did not moved over to 4.4mm (and for the fact ibasso DX220 MAX wasn't round the corner), I would certainly be thinking SP2000SS vs LP6Ti.

Now LP6Ti, ignoring the poor UI, that is a DAP that makes SP2000ss sound congested.

3700 for a little more. Great deal

LP6TI barely can compete with the Hifiman r2r. LP6TI aint worth even 1500 usd.
