Did anyone with the 'unable to charge' issue on their SP2000 manage to fix the problem without hardware servicing?
Have you tried a different USB-C cable/charger?

from my experience, I would say the sound isn’t necessarily better, just different. Depending on the music I much prefer the older version but there are times when the lastest version just outshines …

So, is SP2000 so much better then SP1000?

Please samo infos from present and past owners from both.

Thanks!
It’s better but not by much. The SP1000 with amp is way more powerful than the sp2000.

The SP2000 doesn't produce the same level of realistic playback as the SP1000, though the difference is slight. However, the SP2000 is more consistent in its level of realistic reproduction. You might lose about 10%-20% of the realistic sound quality, but what it does produce is consistently present. My previous SP1000 was the copper version, while my SP2000 is stainless steel. People claim there's no difference, but I don't trust others' opinions. 😂 There’s still plenty of instrument separation and a good amount of realistic reproduction.

I do consider the SP2000 better in some ways. with the SP1000 I would sometimes be startled by how realistic the singer's voice sounded. As you know, not every recording or every moment of each song had that realistic magic, so it would sometimes shock me whenever it played something ultra-realistic. The SP2000 doesn’t do that, making it more of a consistent listening experience rather than a shock every 20 minutes.

Interesting take. Personally, I feel the SP2000 do a better job with micro details than the sp1000. Also, the storage capacity is an added plus. Could you please provide the songs you listened to for comparison.

No particular album or song—I usually play everything shuffled. I just know that the SP1000 always startles me at least once an hour with its ultra-realistic sound. That never happens with the SP2000. I don’t get that feeling of someone singing directly in my ear. There’s certainly more instrument separation with the SP2000, but its musicality and realistic reproduction aren’t the same for me. The SP2000 is great at what it accomplishes, and I don’t regret buying it or feel it’s less capable. I just feel like it focuses on other aspects of sound reproduction and does that very well. Some background info: I’m using mostly Flac and DSD files, headphones are Sennheiser HD800 with custom Cardas cable, Beyerdynamic T5 V2, Audeze LCD-XC with the Lee Weiland of Locus Design blue cable, JHAudio 16V2 and Roxanne 2. Other: DACs Chord Mojo 1 & 2, Aurender Flow. Home system Accuphase E-260, PS Audio Digital Link DAC, Accuphase DAC-60, Tannoy Autographed Mini, Klipsch Heresy.

SP2K does sound unnatural to me. I always wondered at people saying it's got great detail and all that. It's got great power and the separation is good. The highs are a bit sketchy tho and it has a lot of hiss. The bass goes deep; that's good but it sounds somewhat muscular rather than natural. Also the signature is darker than for example SP3K. The lack of 4.4 is a big, big bummer for this DAP. That and the hiss I think; otherwise I've listened to it quite a bit and it's my longest-owned dap

Does anyone know if the tidal app built into the sp2000 as stopped playing hi res music si ce it's done away with mqa? All it shows now is hifi , no max or bit rate. Any plans for an update?.
updating the built-in Tidal app is being looked into. Unfortunately I do not have additional information on if/when that will be completed.
