is this the 1st DAP with a ES9068AS or are there already opinions about it (based on experience )?

SE200 has the same DAC on ESS side. The configuration is also same as the dual DAC configuration. I love the sound of my SE200 ESS side and hope that Alpha uses the similar amp design just with higher power. Pricewise, SE200 costs $1800, then subtract AKM DAC portion and add some additional power components would make $1100 price point of Alpha, which makes sense to me.

They’re on the website but it is indeed smaller - somewhere between the original Kann and the Cube. I’ll be able to play around with one as early as next week so I’ll post some impressions

Pretty impressive specs for $1,100, I image this will impact SA700 sales.

Impressive to maintain the power output while increasing the battery life and reducing the overall volume (LxWxH, not output volume) by almost half and reducing the cost almost 27% versus KANN CUBE. Kudos. Let's hope it sounds good

Doesn't appear to have a desktop level DAC implementation like the Cube which will likely contribute to the improved battery life.
