Yes, my sr15 is spending a lot of time scanning files every time I turn it on, since the last firmware update. My sp1000m had the same problem, but it was fixed by another firmware. No fix for sr15 yet.

It's pretty clear AK would like to ruin their cheaper/older models to force an upgrade.

Same problem here, i couldn't find USB drivers for old AK100 ii. No longer i can copy files into internal memory using only with SD card
My laptop cash and lost my copy of driver.

If Media Scan takes too long each boot up then you need to reformat your card to FAT32 to ensure that the player is fully compatible with it. Media scan time will be reduced a lot.

Not sure what drivers you are referring to. To copy files to/from the AK100 II, for Windows-based computers, you connect and the device appears as a removable hard drive. For MacOS, since Apple does not include native support for Android devices, you need to use a third-party file manager that supports Android devices. The one we mention in the manual is the free Android File Transfer from Google - www.android.com/filetransfer. That will work with any of out Android-based players.

I do not remember your post in the SR15 thread, but what @DAPpower mentions below is the most common cause of significant scan times is the microSD card is not formatted as FAT32, which is the default file system for Android. Most cards today come preformatted as exFAT, so they would need to be reformatted in the player itself or on a computer to FAT32 before use.

Working with filetransfer using Android, thanks for support . I remember downloading Windows driver from this link earlier https://www.astellnkern.com/eng/con...ch=1&word=&cg=Software+&+Driver&goods=SC10930

Could not find now, so I assumed no support my bad.

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

Obviously I'm new here so you haven't seen my post. Thanks for the advice and I'll give it a try.

BTW, have AK consider a switch in settings to enable/disable automatic scanning? It's also interesting to see these modern Android DAPs still require FAT32.

It has been suggested to be able to turn off auto-scanning, but then you run into the issue of someone turning it off by accident or forgetting they turned it off. When they add new music it then would not be indexed.

If you add music for the first time or change a large number of files, the player will background scan the first few times you start the player and take some time. After a set number of times, it will scan on startup and should finish quickly. My suggestion is the first time you load music, change a significant amount of files or insert a new microSD card is to run a manual scan. This will force the player to scan and index all of the files at once and will make future startups much faster. To complete a manual scan, Settings -> System Reset -> Initialize media scan. It can take up to 15 minutes or so for the full scan, depending on the number of files and size of the microSD card.

We are getting off-track on the KANN ALPHA discussion, so please feel free to PM me or tag @JasonNYC on the SR15 thread if you have any other questions.

@JasonNYC can you please confirm if the Kann Alpha has:

1) USB DAC support
2) Lineout (either SE or balanced)

I see neither of these basic features mentioned on any of the spec lists.

Also does it support bi-directional Bluetooth (transmit and receive)?
