If they had an option for say 100.00 more and skip the 256gb card and instead package a 512gb card... It'd probably be a no-brainer for me.

Don't remember saying that friend. But for me anyway I have over 500gbs of music and the 256gb card will very soon need to be replaced. Just sayin if there was a second option with the 512gb card I'd buy in.

No such offer in Hong Kong so count yourselves lucky!  Is the free card a microsd or full sd card?

Full. I wish they'd offer the micro. For those of us that are going to eventually need the "full" 512gb card. Or just forget the 256gb card all together and drop the price 100.00 to 150.00

Probably wishful thinking on my part though.

Exactly! The 256gb sd card is a (pre-order) free gift and quite a nice one imo...over here it would cost $120-150 (depending on brand)

When I picked up my LPG it came with a 256gb sd card. I bought a 512gb card (needed the space) soon after that. So, if I would order the KANN I can still use that 256gb card + 64gb inside + an extra (probably 200gb) micro sd card is > 500gb availability. If I need more space later on? Well, than I can always buy an extra 512gb sd card.

Still not sure about KANN's sq though. Some (not so positive) posts from the 'CanJam SoCal 2017 impressions' thread:

Waiting for more (and hopefully more positive) posts/reviews before I'll decide

If they pay a model (female) to hold a dap or headphone yeah but if they pay a model (female) to put on the headphone and pretend to use it then its a bad sign.

So, when do reviews come out?

FYI, KANN is developed by another team of iriver, which means that they're just simply not belonging to the same product line,or to the same designer. It even doesn't relate to the 4th gen of AK.
You see I live in China mainland, where there're tons of daps looking the same way as KANN. Heavy, ridiculous design pattern, software bugs. However, KANN does have a much better UI compared to the products like QP1R,MR1 alike.

I must agree with you that this product is the ugliest iriver dap I've ever seen. Luckily,it's not AK4xx LOL.$999 is not a big deal if you take its design and UI into concern.

To rectify this misleading information, KANN is in fact made & designed by the same AK team.

As confirmed by Alex An:

- KANN is made in Korea.
- KANN is produced and assembled same factory as other AK. but it has one more factory for aluminum extrude process which is also in Korea.
- KANN is designed and developed by iriver R&D and design team who has been developed every AK line up since AK100. ...
- KANN sound is tuned by same AK sound engineer who has been tuned every AK, that's why KANN sound signature is the same as other AK models.

Another interesting bit of info:

The #KANN can play music through both 2.5mm and 3.5mm outputs from the KANN at the same time, as it incorporates seperate AMP circuits for each of them.
