Man is this thing massive. SR15 on the left. iPhone XS on the right.

It's pretty big, but after a while you don't notice the size. I've been carrying one daily since April and traveling extensively with it and the size is not bad once you get used to it.

I highly recommend getting a good 50 hours of burn in time at least on it.

For me, size is not issue.
As I don't really do mobile listening, so I sold my Q5.
I'd like to utilize my gear as this one that can be portable to office
or connect to desk top gear at home.
This one meet my needs, but still waiting for end user impression.
By now, I guess that some of you have received yours if you pre-ordered it.

Any info if A&K ships to Turkey? Or better yet when it will be available with retailers (Amazon) shipping internationally?
I personally would be happy to keep using Kann but it doesn't allow installation of Spotify/Tidal for offline use which is a shame and is one of the main reasons I'm considering Cube. Thanks.

@CANiSLAYu In the picture, it shows a min-xlr cable.
It seems you have the interface cable already, you built it?
Yes, I had one custom built when I pre-ordered KANN to connect to my THX AAA 789. I wasn't even able to verify if it worked until today, haha. In reality it won't get much use, but a "just in case" type of deal and to mess around with. I bought CUBE to use around the house, not connected to my desktop amp.

Definitely experiencing some unusual behavior with humming when using the XLR out though:

  • If it's just laying on the table with nothing playing, there is a very faint hum at my normal listening volume. It gets louder as the volume is turned up.
  • If I touch the unit, the hum becomes louder
  • When I go to play music, there's a click and then music starts and the hum completely goes away. If I pause the music, even if I touch it, there's still no hum for about 1-2 seconds then it clicks again and it's back to the behavior for the first 2 bullets above.

Is this normal @JasonNYC ?

EDIT: Changed it to "the hum becomes louder." Don't want to give the impression it's super loud or anything.

Not normal when using XLR. We were demoing it with XLR out at the High End Show without issue. Possibly a cabling issue? I will pass this along to our team just to be sure it is not a firmware issue that could be causing it, as this is a newer firmware than what we were demoing with.

I don't mind the size either since it will be used strictly at home. Love the SR15 for work and traveling. CUBE is built like a tank and feels good in the hand! Definitely has more than enough power for my headphones too and enjoying the sound immensely so far. Once Roon support finally comes I might even be tempted to get rid of my desktop setup altogether.

Unfortunately I don't have anything else that uses 5pin XLR to test if it's the cable :frowning2:

Thanks Jason but not really helpful. I quickly checked those who have websites, half of them do not even list A&K among the brands they distributes and those who do have older Kann model offered at USD 1515 with no word about Kann Cube at all. So thanks, I'll pass on local distributors.

Sounds like a possible ground hum? But my experience with ground hum is that touching the unit (and therefore creating a ground connection to earth) usually makes the hum improve rather than get worse.

Wow, massive. Didn’t realize that one side is thicker than the other. Mind you, it’s not much wider/longer than the phone, just thicker, and the SR15 is a very small dap. I think I could live with it.

How does it sound compared to the SR15? I had one for a while and to be honest wasn’t a fan - the bass and mids sounded thin to me, just didn’t have enough emphasis or weight and overall too bright for my tastes.

It seems looking at the power alone, the Cube would be more versatile for me. IEM or 600 ohm Beyerdynamic T1s —

Thanks
I was talking about the Kahn not the cube.
