What do you mean by deep sleep?  The sleep function will shut the unit down completely after so many minutes, so it is not like hibernate for a computer.  Also, the manual said that the battery from the Jr. is a 1450mAh 3.7V Li-Polymer Battery.

It looks like it may make it to 12+ hours. What is the longest time for screen display? And does the player support m3u playlist?

We've tried the AK Jr as a USB DAC on a Macbook, Macbook Pro (via powered USB), Mac Mini with no problem - sounds great. But when we try a Macbook Air it shows up as an output option but no sound. Anyone think this is a case of the USB port not being able to power it?
 
Any thoughts?
 
Update: Actually - doesn't look like it's using much at all.

Auto Power Off: Off, 10 mins, 30 mins, 1 hr, and 2 hrs.
Auto Back Light Off: 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 3 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins, and 30 mins.
Sleep Timer: Off, 10 mins, 30 mins, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 3, hrs, 4 hrs, and 5 hrs.
 
Also I can test m3u later but I will have to let the battery test to finish.  However, there is an easy way to create m3u from the command prompt:

Also, I just noticed that the battery now is at 1/4, so the last leg may go by faster.

Ok general use case for battery test.

Settings:
Volume 35 (half of max of 70).
Display brightness 50%.
Auto power off 10 mins.
Auto back light off 10 sec.
Sleep off.
Bluetooth off.
Songs random play and gapless from playlist of 320k MP3s and 16/44 to 24/192 FLACs.

Timeline:
04:39pm: Test start.
08:15pm: About 1/5 down.
11:05pm: 1/2 down.
11:45pm: 3/4 down.
01:01am: Auto shutdown.

Total run time: 8 hrs 22 mins.

8 hours. Cool.,seems pretty good. Excellent test. Thank you.

In my battery test, my Jr lasted about 10 hours. I do have mostly lossy files though, so that is probably why mine lasted a bit longer.

The AK Jr only offers analog / line out while Hugo only takes digital in.

My AK Jr just arrived this afternoon.  Just wanted to post a quick couple of observations:
The SanDisk 128GB card from my Fiio X1 was scanned by the AK Jr perfectly and seems to be working great.  The Bluetooth feature paired with my iPhone 6 without issue and now interrupts the music when I get a call..A huge plus for me and worth the price for that alone.  Charging now and listening this weekend.  More later.

Been using line out to HA-2 and it sounds great. Been using with Rockets and PM-3, both have benefitted from the HA-2. Don't sound as full without.
