Hey Guys,

My AK120 II is starting to muck up - it's a weird issue - some albums refuse to play and the player just continuously scrolls through the album's track list and the touch screen doesn't respond to the play/pause track back/forward buttons at all. The rest of the touch screen does respond, so I can change album or artist without issue. This has affected 2 albums now in the past 2 weeks. I've tried turning the player on and off, but it makes no difference.

I am running an older firmware (probably 12 months+ old) but the DAP has NEVER done this before with the same firmware over the past 12 or so months, apart from the 2 instances in the past 2 weeks.

This scrolling issue has also occurred when going into the artist button and when I started to scroll, it just continuously kept scrolling through the entire artist list. I turned the unit on and off and that seemed to fix it, and it hasn't happened since.

Has anyone else seen this happen, or had it happen to them, or heard of it happening? Any thoughts or suggestion?

To be honest, I am less than impressed that such a highly priced player is starting to have issues within a few years of purchase. For the price, it shouldn't have any issues at all imho. I'm yet to talk to the place of purchase, and will probably ring them during the coming week to discuss the issue.

Dave

Does that mean I'd lose any music stored on the actual device? I'll have to look at the manual again to see how to do a factory reset and d/l the firmware via the device...

A factory reset will wipe the internal storage of your player.
Wifi can be activated from the top dropdown menu and you can connect to your access point. You will receive a prompt of available updated firmware after you are connected.

well that was quick..."the device has insufficient storage..."I think I had around 400 MB free, which was sufficient to do the last update. But, I'm not sure if the update removes its own update files post install or not...if not, I probably don't have any room...I need to get into uni work, this is gonna have to wait. So much for quick and easy, it's never the way lol...
