Thanks! That is very helpful.
Not having open Android is a bit of a downer, I hope it doesn't mean I won't be able to download YT music app on it - I will check.
If you primarily use YouTube music, an AK player might not be the best fit for you. AK players do not support the YT Music app since it needs Google Play Services installed. We do have the V-Link app on the player which is a web based version of YouTube Music, but doesn't have all the functionality of the actual Android app.

Cheers for clarifying 👍🏾

How is the sp3000t connect to the pc? Do you use the power from the pc's usb port exclusively or connect it via wall charger and play the song within the dap itself?
I use BLITZWOLF 868H 160W DESKTOP USB PD+QC3.0 FAST CHARGER only, 1,5TB miniSD card + 250GB internal memory. No internet streaming, no USB DAC mod, no PC connection. Directly within the DAP itself.

I bought an SP3000T after deliberating between it and the SP3000. Overall I really like this player, but there is a huge caveat. When on tube/hybrid mode with current at mid/max I always get a high-pitched ringing in the right channel when I touch/move the player or jog the volume dial. This can be very loud on my Pathfinder IEMs if I move the volume dial. Typically the undulating ringing lasts around 10 seconds

I have been told that this is standard for this player and is caused by Harmonics. A&K tell me this is expected behaviour.

This means using the tube mode in the go is definitely out.

Is this a common issue? I did see someone see there’s wasn’t that bad but I’m wondering if some players are better than others. I stand to lose 20% if I return because of a restocking fee.

Unfortunately it is common and more noticeable the more sensitive your IEM is.

Have you tried other headphones?
I couldn't notice anything in this regard, for example with a Fiio FA19, and I honestly can't imagine that this is normal behavior.
I tried it with LCD 4Z and could hear it there also. Not as noticeable but definitely there.

I read about 10 reviews before going to demo the 3000 and 3000T and none of them mentioned this issue with IEMs for whatever reason. I’d probably not have bought if I’d been aware of it. Although I suppose I just go for low or OP when using IEMs that are affected.

A&K say this is normal behaviour so a swap isn’t on the cards. I can take it back and lose 20% or live with it. I just wondered how prevalent the issue is. As I say, the player is lovely and I would be 100% happy if it wasn’t for this issue.

I don't understand what all this talk is about. The manufacturer says that this is normal. I don't care what happens to the device in tube mode on level 3 when walking down the street, because I will never do that. If you want to listen in tube mode while moving, then you have to wait a couple of years, such a device may appear. In the meantime, either give up moving in tube mode or put up with this interference, or return the player. There are no other options. Before buying, in my opinion, you should first carefully read the "User's Guide" from the manufacturer, especially those parts that directly relate to our way of using the device. On page 41 (where it talks about listening specifically in tube mode) it is highlighted in bold:
Due to the nature of vacuum tubes, microphonics can occur with even small shocks, which is not a problem with the product.
Please be careful in handling as vacuum tubes can be damaged by tapping or strong impacts.

This is practically a polite warning: moving (or relocating) the device while listening in tube mode is prohibited.

Damn! A faint noise was audible in the SP2KT, but a loud noise I doubt it is normal. The SP3KT is very quiet. I walk around the house with the 3KT in my pocket and no issues with Mest 3, Maven 2, Traillii. They aren't hypersensitive, it's true, but still. Move it away from your phone/tablet, I had a crazy experience with the Cayin N3 Ultra when it was on top of my iPad.

I don’t normally read a user manual before I buy a product I must confess. i don’t intend to walk down the road in tube mode, the issues I’m hearing are on an unmoving table when I alter the volume. If I continue to move the volume the whine gets louder and takes about 10 seconds to fully dissipate. Using it on a table is hardly skateboarding down Regent’s Street 😁
Do you have a guarantee? Could you perhaps exchange the device?
I’m going to maybe try another one at the store I bought it from to see if the other suffers as much. Perhaps my one isn’t sealed as completely as other devices. I think all SP3000T will suffer from this in mid/high mode to some degree but maybe I just got a dud that out with normal parameters. As I say, great device otherwise. There are workarounds - don’t use sensitive IEMs and use low voltage or OP if those IEMs are used.

As I mentioned, I was just curious if others have similar as not one review mentioned the issue.

When I read the technical data in the manual and look at the noise floor of 120db or higher, you should be able to hear next to nothing in normal operation, at least if you don't use overly sensitive in-ears.

I also assume that you don't do any sport with the devices, or even go for a walk. There are cheaper solutions for that, a smartphone paired with Bluetooth in-ears.

Sorry, misunderstood. I usually listen to music (FLAK 24/96-192) in tube mode (level 2 and 3) and change the volume level quite often (namely with the wheel), since I listen mostly to classical music and the recordings always sound different, some louder, others quieter, and there are places, even in the same composition, that are performed quieter and you turn them up louder to hear them better. To this day (already two months) I have never felt even the slightest hint of problems with interference. I listen only in tandem with Theaudio Monarch 3, the Internet is always off.
