@JasonNYC, do you think AK will introduce a dock for the SP3K? That would be ideal to allow the DAP to have easier integration with our home audio systems.
No plans at this time for a dock for thr SP3000. When AK released docks in the past, they really didn't sell well which is why they stopped selling them.

I’m sure the CA1000 is fine but it probably does not compare in sound quality versus a TOTL player. It’s possible to be both a portable solution and a home audio solution.

Just got my preordered SP3K. IMHO, resolution is top notch and pitch black background is quite astounding. A little surprised that it can drive the Susvaras pretty well!!

Dude, it kind of is what it is at this point, does the reason matter? I assume it is important to you for streaming downloads? Do you have a reason to not use a sd card?
With supply chain issues and rising costs of components, the decision was made to do 256GB to keep the price close to the SP2000, while upgrading the player to a higher end Snapdragon processor and doubling the amount of RAM to 8GB in order to significantly speed up the UI, which is one of the areas that users have mentioned needed improvement.
The current SD spec supports up to 2TB cards and all AK players will support 2TB cards when they are eventually released, since they support the current SD specs.
