Sorry, I was a day early accounting for the time difference between the US and Korea. The firmware update will be released late tonight (9/24)/early tomorrow morning here in the US/Europe.

What is the purpose of a VU meter? It will tell me if I play my music too loud with my headphones?

Lets you know the level of the signal below 0dBFs in real time. If you have a brickwalled music, it'll hit 0dBFs or max on the Vu meter often

On McIntosh power amps, it tells you the instantaneous power being used by the amp

Whats the ideal area to be at on the VU meter and I assume you.would have to do a custom EQ to bring the level down. Both the EE Raven and Novus without any EQ were hitting up against near the read 0 line. On the Novus when I enable the EQ NOVUS preset designed by Astell&Kern sound engineers it brings the VU meter back a lot further.

I'd assume to be -3dBFS and this is referencing Chord DACs as their "max" volume

I see. Thanks for thay insight!

No problem! BTW, I also add that if you want to "upsample" your music tracks with HQPlayer, they also recommend -3dBFS as to not cause any clipping during the upsampling process:

That's a helpful that it reinforces the idea of a -3 to -4 VU meter zone to be in. Have you had a chance to audition Forte Ears Macbeth yet? I'm having to return my Fei Wan jn the 30 day return window due to a faulty left driver making faint fuzzy static-like noises when specific sound frequencies are played on a song. Number one culprit in my music library is "Doin' it Right" by Daft Punk (feat. Panda Bear).

Lastly given I have the Astell&Kern Novus and the Viking Ragnar should I get a other pair of IEMs like the trifecta or get the Eletech Sonnet of Adam cable to use with the Forte Ears Macbeth when it's released?
