Very very happy with my newly purchased SP 3000 platinum. I used to have the SR 25 about 5 years ago and decided to get back into the audio world with this purchase. I spoke to Rigo at audio 46 who helped me to pull the trigger on it with nothing but good things to say about his own personal SP 3000.

Yesterday was the first real time I spent with the unit for about three hours. I am newly using Qobuz and had downloaded three albums: Mortiis, The Smell of Rain, and another by Mortiis, Perfectly Defect and the third being Opeth heritage. I dabbled with the EQ, but realized I did not need it once I matched comply foams to my campfire fathom. I really love theft of the unit, the display and the responsiveness. Very clean sound great separation and did not experience any hiss. I am going to test the Astrolith on it next.
Very cool. The platinum looks awesome "silky smooth". I had the SP3000T and when I bought the SP3000 after it was a huge upgrade in sound quality and expanded soundstage.

Nice DAP! I bet the Platinum looks like a beautiful piece of jewelry.

what kind of cover are you guys using?
was looking at some trasparent silicon but 50 eur do seems crazy :D
The black premium leather one with the Astell&Kern logo. It looks nice. Better quality than the SP3000T black version.

I forgot to ask. Can someone tell me if having a separate portable Amp like the Astell&Kern PA-10 would be beneficial for IEMs? I always thought the SP3000 had enough power, but apparently some IEMs benefit from additional amplification?

Thanks!

Hi guys, I have a problem with the Tidal upgrade from open source (apk). Astell says on its website that the current version that can be installed is 2.9. I downloaded it from the web and uploaded it to the open source folder on DAP. Unfortunately, this file does not appear in the list of applications in the player. How do you deal with this?

2.9 doesn't sound right.

Here is the latest version in apk format. It's newer than what's on A&K website but it works fine:
