They do lack bass for a basshead, Mr. Certified Basshead.
 
It's just a notch above neutral bass, a very small notch.

how do the ultrasones 580 780 and pro 750 all compare in the bass department?

I found the Shure SRH750DJ to be great for electronic and rock. And they can be found for under $150.

 he said that the M50 lack bass, but I dont completely disagree with him, IMO M50's bass lack pace and punch but in terms of quantity its perfectly fine for the music.. just my humble opinion
