Arya Unveiled impressions thread

What chain were you running it off of? Most reviews etc I’ve read say it’s very neutral, more on the lean side in terms of dynamics/bass response. Not saying I don’t believe you, hope you don’t get that impression.
Shanling Miracle. Sp3000m.

Not at all! I think it's the nature of it not being a fully open headphone that adds to the stronger bass response.

I can of course only speak for myself, but I would have bought these instantly if it weren’t for the uncertainty of the design. I mean just looking at the frequency responses this new Arya Unveiled hands down looks like the finest eggshaped model Hifiman has ever made. More linear mids, the piercing 6-7k peak is gone and an altogether more refined looking treble. It has all the ingredients of the perfected eggy Hifiman…I just don’t trust the exposed driver design🤷‍♂️
I hope it works out for you though Hisma and will be following this thread.
If I can be a little patient I’m also fairly certain that I can get the Arya Unveiled at around half the price in a year or so.

Ok listen up everyone. I have two words for you. Buy these. Full stop. Have you ever wanted an Arya, with all its spacious soundstage, detail, Hifiman clarity, and a much more filled out midrange where vocals are now clear, and slightly forward instead of slightly recessed?

Then here you go. Enter the Arya Unveiled. These are simply the most tonally balanced egg-shaped Hifiman to date. If you, like me, like the Hifiman sound, but always found them a little too bright, then these are for you. If you have never found the Hifiman tuning to be bright, then you’re not missing anything here.

To my ears, these are magnificently tuned. They’re very balanced and have no hint of sibilance or harshness anywhere. These are a very clear tuning departure from the classic Hifiman sound, and I can’t take them off my head. Hifiman with a forgiving tuning? Yes sir.

Nice job Fang and Hifiman 👏🏼

yeah mine just arrived today. relaxed treble, very tonally balanced, bass is present enough to punch when it needs to. excellent staging, instead of being tall like the OG aryas, they're more wide, with instrumentation separation/spatial presence that no other hifhiman I've heard has achieved so far. Mids are where they shine. Mid-forward, as @Hifiearspeakers mentioned, but in a manner where vocals shine.

Really enjoy them. I have no problem paying $1400 for them, especially when the next level up, the HE1000 unveiled is almost double the price. I haven't heard the last gen HE1000 stealths so can't compare, but seeing that these are only $200 more, you should be more inclined to grab these if you like balanced, neutral tuning with excellent staging and clarity. But also knowing hifiman has a history of quickly slashing prices, you may also want to wait a bit if you're willing to be patient.

As of now these are my top headphones as they're the perfect all-arounders.

Agree with all of this. As a former owner of the older he1000’s, Arya, Edition X V2, Susvara, Sundara, and Ananda, these are just great. I am very happy and surprised by their tuning. These are NOT bright. I’m loving them!

I didn't liked Arya Stealth at all. And tried them two times, this leads me to a question. Is the Arya Unveiled alike? Apart from a bit a change in tonality openness etc, are these siblings?

Is there any comparison of the Arya Unveiled to HE1000 Stealth and SE? Can the Arya Unveiled topple the now cheaper HE1000 Stealth or perhaps the HE1000 SE as well? I'll do a poll soon if there is nobody who has experience with all these headphones.

I have the he1000 unveiled and really it is not an issue. You put the protections when you stop listening and voila. While listening, what can happen? Honestly, nothing…

That is an impossible question to answer since it is simply a matter of personal preference. All we can do is tell you how they sound different, and you have to decide what you like and prefer.

As I said earlier, these are a much less bright tuning, which absolutely suits my preference, but others may prefer a brighter presentation.

They’re still a Hifiman, so none of these models are going to sound drastically different. They’re all just different flavors.

I would say, however, that the Unveiled drivers seem to measure better than their older counterparts in terms of a CSD plot. I don’t know if that’s due to the total lack of reflections because of the openness of the design, or if Hifiman has updated their driver technology as well. Time will tell.
