Arya Unveiled impressions thread

Quick question.

Wondering if anyone has A/B'd between the HEKV2 OG and the Arya Unveiled?

I'm contemplating selling my HE1000V2 OG to buy the Arya Unveiled and wondering if that's a smart move or not.

I currently only use the HEKV2 for Soundtracks and composed music so it's not in use a lot. I figured I'd potentially get more use out of the Arya but if it's a bad trade I won't bother.
Hi mate,

I haven't heard either headphone but I've demoed all Aryas and both the HEK SE and Stealth. Aryas are excellent for detail but (in mine and many others' opinions in my circle) no Arya is above any HEK in terms of detail, clarity, placement and SQ. A friend is a YT reviewer and owns the HEK SE, and has thoroughly demoed the Arya UV, HEK UV and Sus UV. He also says the same. I asked if Arya UV would be an upgrade over my HEK Stealth. The answer - no. Just doesn't quite compete with the HEK line. I have to assume this is correct for the HEK V2 also. He lovd the Arya UV (very different tuning to all previous Aryas) but was blown away by the HEK UV. Hope this helps in a non-helpful way haha.

Upgraded from the Organic to Unveiled, very happy with them.

Not as spacious in regards to staging but improves in practically everything else.
Same here. Though in my case the Organic was a 30 day return as I could not get on with the treble (amongst other problems).

Only ended up with Arya U as retailer could not get hold of their recommended HE1000 Stealth and let me have the Arya U for same price. Said yes quickly before they realised their mistake 😁.

Did you find the Arya U sound signature evolved in the 1st day or two from 'Polite' to having a bit more energy ?

That's a pretty good result!

I haven't noticed much, I think more so my ears are just getting accustomed to the sound presented.

I haven't burned them in enough, saving that for this weekend. :L3000:

How did you like them this weekend?

Have you heard HE1000SE? IF so, how do they compare with Arya U?
Hey, I can't answer regarding the SE but I can compare the new Arya with the HE Unveiled that I recently sold. Basically, the Arya is much warmer and sounds like a TOTL HD 650/600. The soundstage isn't as wide the HE1000, but a lot of it just due to the tuning since the HE1000 is a brighter headphone (I even tested this out with EQ and was able to the Arya very close to the HE1000 with a high shelf filter added).

Honestly, if you're okay with EQ or want a darker default tuning, I'd get the Arya as it's not only cheaper, but also has better timbre imo. I'd only opt for the HE1000SE if you really want that extra brightness and spaciousness and don't want to mess around with EQ. I hope that helps!

Not to derail the Arya chat... but why did you did you sell your HE1000 Unveiled? I only ask because almost every review I've seen was raving about them

Basically the reason I listed above haha. It's amazing, but after I played around with eq between the Arya unveiled and the HE1000 unveiled...there was barely any difference between the two performance wise.

But to me, the Arya has a much better timbre than the He1000 (sounds much more natural imo). And I prefer a darker tuning more naturally. Basically, if I eq'd the Arya, I could get it to sound close to the HE1000 to the point that if someone was blind testing both, the split between which one is more preferred would be 50/50.

But when I tried to eq the He1000 to sound close to the Arya, I couldn't. So once I did that, I knew I was going to be selling it (plus I got a great deal on the He1000 from my dealer so it wasn't as bad of a loss as if I bought it new).

So yeah, I think if someone is willing to eq, it's much better value to buy the new Arya compared to the other unveiled products. Yeah, the He1000 is still a bit more a technical performer, especially (if we compare default tuning where the He1000 really shines with its sound staging and layering), but for, I'd take a more natural presentation that I can easily eq vs one that is already on the bright end for me and much more expensive.

I never equalize, just because it annoys me, constantly having to change for every headphone AND my hifi speaker set as well…

I compared the arya stealth v3, and I actually liked them more than the arya unveiled… the unveiled sounded more detailled but thinner? The he1000 unveiled had more warmth (at least in the low end).

How does the he1000se third generation sound compared to these?

I tried to like the arya unveiled and I like the more clearness.. but something in the sound irritated me??

With the burson 3xr gt I even went from the vivid to classic v7 for the arya unveiled.

I even tried with the tt2+mscaller stand alome, but there I liked the arya v3 better?

If I want to upgrade I probably have to go he1000se?? Some advice?

I never perceived the arya v3 as bright?

They say the arya unveiled is less bright, so why was it exactly that, wat irritated me listening the arya unveiled? I mean yes it is very very detailled, can’t say bad… But I did not like it??

I love neutral sounding headphones, but the new Arya sounded so thin to me??

Really would like someones opinion in this?

When you say thin, do you mean like ''not as wide as previous Arya?''.

I know the HE1000 and Arya line have this exaggerated sound stage like the HD800 and AKG also have.

Could it be that you like a very ''cathedral'' alike type of width in the soundstage of that cans you prefer?

I'm really assuming this is what you meant by ''thin'' as everyone seems to agree that the mid-lows and bass region is very well detailed and prominent so I don't know what else it could be really.

Other then that, I could only imagine that the seal of the ear pads of the headphones was broken so the mid lows and bass leaked but I don't know why you would
have not adjusted it or other Arya would have sit perfectly. No new prescription glasses with big arms by any chance ?

Note that I have not heard the Arya Unveiled yet but I did try the Arya Organic and it was definitely not thin, nor in mid lows and bass, or width. So I'm puzzled as to why you would have perceived them thin other then using the term for width really.

It is not stage, the stage is fine, it is something else in the treble I don’t like, it feels like some distortion. I compared back and forth arya stealth v3 and arya unveiled.

If I try to describe well enough, the arya stealth v3 sounds more smooth, but less detailed to me compared to the unveiled.
But it’s like the arya sounds tooooo neutral or something, with the cost of loosing midrange warmth.

I never heared the organic so can’t judge

What is the he1000se like?

I have heared the 1000 unveiled, it just had little bit more bass and little bit more detail compared to the arya version

Thin? That’s the last quality I would give to the Arya’s Unveiled. I own and love both the Arya Organic and the Arya Unveiled, and both are full and warm. The Arya UV has more pronounced mids and more rounded highs compared to the sometimes too bright highs of the Organic. The Arya UV has its own unique sound, unlike any previous Arya. In some ways, it is more like the Susvara UV.
The Organic seems to occupy a wider sound stage, but not by much.

I never heard the HE1000se. I only tried the HE1000 stealth for about 30 minutes once. From what I recall, it was very detailed and the front treble forwardness was also a thing but it was way too wide in sound stage (to my taste and use case).

I'm very confused about your statement of the Arya Unveiled sounding thin honestly. It seems to go against all popular opinion I've ever heard. But as I have never heard them ( and I'm really interested in buying a set), I'm wondering why you would hear them that way.

Could it be a QC issue again?

Is your ear pad seal broken when you listen to them ?
