Hey, I have used EAGLE quite a a bit in the past and have managed to get over some small quirks. But this one is a bugger! I noticed this when i was using a custom made component, and it looked fine in the component editor, but when it was placed in the circuit the holes on it grew quite a few sizes up! I looked up the problem and found out it was because of the restring values. I changed them but they messed up some other parts i didnt want changed.

Is there a formula i can use to estimate how much larger the holes will grow, and size them properly? Or better yet, can i get rid of this feature??

I've not seen that problem. You should post about this on the EAGLE support forums. You'll get more expertise there.

NeilR and anyone else it may concern -
I didnt really find a solution, it seems you just have to make it work for individually. While i was searching for the answer I used another CAD program for the time being, FreePCB. I picked it because it was free (a-durrr), it exported gerber files, and it seemed quite easy to use.
Now, i will probably stay with FreePCB. Initially it takes a little while to get used to (you can use the F buttons for shortcuts), and you will probably have to make some parts yourself, but it is a breeze to use after that. Making parts in it can be compared to making them in expresspcb, not like a long process such as Eagle.
Only bad part is no schematic editor (no biggie-you can use Tinycad for that), and you can only snap to the grid with pre-selected sizes.

Consider using Freepcb instead ( www.freepcb.com
