This morning I had some ear aches and a couple of sustained tones in my left ear. I am afraid of tinnitus, so I am going to limit the volume (and usage) of my cans for the time being.
I may just have to invest in FCJ's suggestion of getting an SPL meter...
Wow, I'm amazed...Looking at the poll - more than 50% of you guys are NOT listening to music while browsing the Forum
I was assuming as 'taken for granted' that most of you, like myself, 'naturally' were surfing with headphones on... THAT should teach me a lesson - never assume anything
... Unless you're surfing at work and then you have to hear your boss coming
Strangely enough, today is one of the rare days that I'm sitting at my computer and looking at the forum without my headphones on. Go figure.

LOL, you can? My Dad came into my room this morning to say hi to me before going to work, because he thought he had heard my alarm clock go off (it was actually my brother's). So I woke up when he entered my room, and I had my headphones on. He seemed surprised by this, and said "You went to sleep with headphones on?!"
I never take mine off, so i voted accordingly. If i'm on my pc, they are glued to my head cept for one ear, which is cocked so i can hear if i get called or whatever
I wonder if going to sleep with headphones on can cause ear damage...? I guess if the levels are low enough it wouldn't matter... but if not... I mean that could be something like 8 hours of continous listening.
I guess most people don't listen to their music on continous replay though when they are wandering off to sleep with it though.

"always on"
right now i'm listening to johann strauss waltzes with d777<-cha47<-cd1700 (filter mod). i'm at work, but in my office so people have to knock. i may make this my full-time work system--closed phones are needed so i can concentrate, and the comfortable sound & fit of the cd1700 makes it perfect for long sessions.
Soon after I got my HD580's I dumped my computer speakers in the storage room and put my old HD495's to some good use. So yes, I'm listening on my headphones as I type, something I coudn't've been doing a few months ago. Unfortunately headphones and glasses don't mix too well and it gets uncomfortable after an hour or 2.
