Are you getting the Senn HD 700 in 2007?

Most likely I am. I don't have the HD650. And I figure I'll wait a little bit and get the HD 700. It's gonna be incredible!

I wasn't aware that there had been any announcements, official or otherwise, about the HD700. How do you know it's coming in 2007?

Yup, there has been nothing official about the new headphone from Sennheiser. But I will say this, if the new headphone still retains the basic sound signature of the HD580/600/650s, then I probably will not get it, since I'm not a big fan of that sound signature.

There is a HD>650 released, I also will probably not be interested unless Sennheiser deign to deviate from the established series sound signiture to an appriciable degree. My own sonic preferences lie somewhat to the side of the HD650, and as I only bought it, new, a coupel of months ago, I dont think that ill be keen to replace it with a similar model.

I read it somewhere but i forgot the source. I do apologize for that. If it does come out, I want to get it since I only have the small PX100 which I really love.

Maybe it will be a white color can with a zebra stripe leather band? Lower impedence? We'll find out. Stay tuned.......at least for a year or more.

But I kind of remember somebody saying they heard inside info and that it was susposed to be similar to the HE90

too much rumors...what I heard about them is that they will be back in electrostatic business and is developing a replacement for he60 or something, and also a new dynamic phone....

(this is the first time I said it here I believe) but still, if they sound like 6x0...no thanks

This keeps coming up periodically. There was a rumor thread a few months back where it was speculated that the HD-XXX would be neither a dynamic nor an electrostatic headphone.

I seem to remember Tyll suggesting that there was something new in the pipeline, but leaving it at that.

Common sense would tell you that something new is coming. The HD-650 has been out for a few years now. AKG and BeyerDynamic have updated their lines. Grado has introduced a new halo product, as well. They're probably looking to respond with something.

And yeah, I'll probably buy one. I love the HD-650 and think Sennheiser makes a good headphone. It won't be junk. If they use a transducer like an AMT, ribbon, planar, piezo, etc., I'll be all over it. I love that stuff.

hd xxx and "where is the street style" are probably the most common speculation threads ever. I just hope they will change the flag ship sound signature somehow. It has been three generations since they retained the current sound signature. Should be time for something new.
