Have been waiting patiently for 6 weeks now for Senn 555 and 595 to arrive in Australia and still no sign of them. Are they just a figment of my imagination? I have been on preorder for 4 weeks now and fear new Senn models will be out before these even appear. They don't exist do they........you guys have just touched up some old photos in adobe....right?

Ring Syntec, the distributors and ask them. Phone : 02 9417 4700. As far as I know the 555's are due at the end of this month but the 595's aren't due for a while, although I think a few may be coming in the first shipment with the 555's.

Actually, overall I like them (555)! They have a pretty good tonal balance to them although I have noticed them get a little hot in the trebles and become fatiguing at high volumes. They are especially good for low volume listening in a quiet environment though. I wish the 555 were more resolving, hopefully the 595 is since it will replace my 590 and needs to be able to resolve dvd-a at least as well.

I'm looking for something to replace my sold 590's. Something that is everything the 590's are/were but with a more balanced sound. I was hoping the 555's would be close enough, but I'm not sure. Hopefully the 595's will fit that description.

Definately not, the 555 doesn't have anywhere near the 590's ability to resolve minute detail. Also, the 555 can be nearly as fatiguing as the 590. They sound good but I don't think they are what you are looking for. I got mine to use at work and like them for that purpose since they are uber comfortable and sound good at low volumes.

HI: I gave a warning when the 595 was on pre order a while back that after the first sales that there will be a back order and a long wait fore any new 595. I have also noticed that the 555 has many mixed reviews but the 595 seems to be more accepted. I replaced my 590 with replacement cable and and very glad I got the 595 to replace them. To me the 595 are everything I always had hoped the 590 would be but had to buy a replacement cable fore them to get a little better but the 590s were still bland and veiled compared to the 595. Keep in mind that the 590s were my favorite cans till I heard the 595. I did a A/B with the 595 and 590 + replacement cable and right after the test sold the 590 + cable. LOL.

I agree with LTUCCI1924, go for the 595 if you can, my 595s blew away my SR60 and my friend's 125 in comfort, detail and sound stage also I find that the SR60's to be far more brighter than the 595s, these things was confirmed not only by me but also by my friend. Another thing is, most people really like their 595s, with a exception of a very vocal few, buy hey, can't plase every body.

. And by the way LTUCCI1924 can't you use the replacement cords on the 590s for 595s?

The answer is... NO.

The left earcup of the 595s must be disassembled just to get at the connector of their cord. And then, the 595s use a completely different connector than the 590s at the headphone end.

HI: The 595 cord is a fixed cord. But I think that this is just great. The cord on the 595 is better that the stock cord on the 590s and really don't need a replacement cord. The nice thing about this is that when you buy the 595 thats it as far as a headphone goes. Now you can look at your amp and source and ICs.
