i just got a pair of CX300's for my 5.5G ipod off ebay for $40 (needed a cheap ibud replacement) and i wasn't too pleased with how it sounded

i'm letting it burn in right now (hoping it'll get better), but i was wondering if they were real

i've never seen a cx300 in person before

oh yea, are the tips supposed to be like really soft-ish?

i've never owned earbuds before so i have no idea ~_~

thx

is there any way to take the pictures so that it would give you guys a better view of it? or there's no way to tell from looking at it?

well as the for sound, it sounds great, everything seems balanced, but the bass seems faded and pretty much i can't feel any of the bass

so my real complaint is actually with the bass, not the quality of the sound

Yes. According to sennheiser.com. they also come in pink. Elecom must be rubbing off on them.

Anyway, based on this guide:

I'm gonna say "possibly fake" based on the size of the R and L. Can't make out the edge of the logo too well in the fuzzy pictures.

The driver screens are supposed to be completely flat, so if your pair's screens have a curvature on it then it's probably fake. The headphone plug is also supposed to be 90 degree terminated in silver. The tips are supposed to be of a matted consistency rather than shiny and yes they're supposed to be very soft.

But hey, if they sound good then it's a good pair of headphones, right?
