Hello,

I'm looking for living room speakers and I can't really find any definitive guides on how to set up living room speakers. I've googled and all and browsed the stickies on this site's forums but I have had zero luck in finding such guides. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Just some info that might be needed for extra reference:

My budget is under a grand. And I already have the Nuforce Icon HDP.

Thank you.

First, be patient. See the head-fi posting guidelines for how long you should wait before bumping a post: http://www.head-fi.org/t/714421/the-dx90-by-ibasso-sound-impressions-and-possible-ways-to-improve-what-you-hear

Next, head-fi is a headphone forum. For speaker setup, you might want consult websites that focus more on that like Audioholics discussion forums, AVS forums, AVforums, etc.

What do you mean by "setup?" Audioholics has quite a few resources on placement. Here are some:
http://www.audioholics.com/home-theater-calibration/home-theater-set-up-basics-101
http://www.audioholics.com/home-theater-connection/home-theater-speaker-layout-an-essential-guide
http://www.audioholics.com/home-theater-connection/how-to-set-up-5.1-speaker-home-theater-system

Blu-Ray forums has more (google it).

If you are looking to buy a living room speaker setup, then you would need to provide a lot more information on any website you post to get help:

1) your listening preferences and intended usage: %music/movies/gaming
2) how many channels: 5.1? 2.1?
3) what sources do you plan to use (plug up) with it
4) any size or aesthetic restrictions
5) how big is the room

My apologies for my impatience.

Those guides you posted are real great! I think these guides will do. Thank you very much!

Next time I will follow the posting guidelines

Glad that helped. I know it's a lot to figure out if you are just getting started :)
