Are there any DAPs that actually work well as a USB DAC/AMP?

I'm trying to make my endgame setup as mobile and small as possible. I often see DAPs advertise they can be used as a DAC/AMP or something along those lines, but reviews seem to show they always fall short.

If I can combine my DAP and USB DAC/AMP into one device that would be very helpful.

So, is there anything out there worth looking at? That works properly as a USB DAC/AMP?

I don't need a lot of power, will only be driving low impedance gear.

Its called a phone,

Yes seriously, get a new LG G7 or an older V20 and be done. Throw a big sd card in and load up great flac or other lossless files. Super dacs inside and clean amps.

I have heard daps with dac amps like the Mojo and for mobile the phones I mentioned are as good or better. I used to own a Mojo but the SQ increase was marginal over my LG V10 at the time and a pain in the pocket because of the bulk and the OTG cable disconnects. Good luck!

How do I use a phone as a USB DAC/AMP? I think you're missing my point.

I must be missing your point, you stated "setup as mobile and small as possible" but I think you forgot to tell us What your current setup is? and why you would need the device to be a dac/amp or if it needed to work with a present dap.

If what you are saying is I would like to use something as a dac/amp with a desktop or laptop, tablet etc, yes that is something entirely different.

But you did say "if I could combine my DAP and DAC/AMP into one device that would be very helpful." That's exactly what I am talking about.

World class applications like Foobar 2k or Onkyo HF player or many others running on an Android phone with tons of storage = DAP

LG V series and new G7 have ESS dacs and Amps along with the typical SOC dac amps like you would find in a typical phone (ok sounding at best). The Dacs and separate HP amps in these phones are not ordinary. Much better sounding than your average phones and many high end DAPs . And yes there are few other brands as well. And since it is all built in, boom "All in One"

Sorry for the misinfo, I do not have Telepathy, haha.

Check out the V20 or V30 threads here for some info.
