If you can wire a CMOY together, how about trying the speaker output adapter and / or the headphone output optimizer (impeder) linked to in my sig?

I had just found the sennheiser hd-495's in a local store for 65 bucks. I was wondering if anyone here has them or has listened to them. I think its an awsome deal however I have seen many mixed reviews on the net. I will be powering them with a cmoy which will be done in a day. So I just wanted to know what you experts thought about the sound quality. Thanks. JV.

Unfortunately, even the li'l cmoy won't have anywhere near enough power to drive the HD-495 to adequately loud levels. You'll need a huge headphone amp just to drive the HD-495, as that 'phone is extremely inefficient (it's less efficient than even the HD-580 or HD-600). I had owned the HD-495 myself, and both the Total Airhead and a borrowed cmoy clipped at their output when the HD-495 is barely loud enough in a quiet room.
