Are the battery comparments in your Headroom Micro amp really tight as well?

I just got my amp, and wanted to put batteries into it.
The first thing I noticed was the compartments are really tight.
In fact at the top of the compartment in the middle that little hang scratched the side of the battery. Once in, I could not ge them out. I had to use a fork to pry them out.

Or could it be my batteries are too thick? Aren't they supposed to be standard sizes. I am using rechargeables that are branded Radio Shack. Hmmm...maybe that is the case. I guess I will try some energizers or something.

9 volt batteries do have variation in size, most frequently due to the casing thickness. There are also some 9 volt batteries that are actually longer than others.

Here's a link showing various rechargeables. I bought the Powerex model at the top of the page, and they fit pretty well in the MicroStack. If I remember correctly, the lithium's do not fit, and the 270mah are too long:

Thanks for the reply.
I picked up a couple of Rayovacs from wallmart. They are noticeably thinner and fit in better.. But the right battery compartment seems to be just a but narrower and I have to push the battery in a little bit more firmly.
And they all seem to be maybe just a mm too long.

I guess I might try the Maha.

Don't get me wrong--it's a tight fit no matter which battery you use; some just don't fit at all. The Powerex 230mah is a good battery, but it's still a snug fit. I almost never use batteries with it anymore.

When I was using batteries, I had a matching charger from Thomas Distributing and 8 of the Powerex batteries. I would use 4/charge 4 every day, so I always had a fresh set.
