Are SR60 and KSC35 worth trading for D66 Eggos for college?

The two headphones I have now are:

Grado SR60 with Senn pad mod (had them for less than 3 months)
Koss KSC-35 (brand new, just got them yesterday)

Unfortunately, both are open-style and I'll be attending college this Fall. Much of my headphone usage is for the computer (MP3s, games, etc), and I don't want to disturb my roommate. Value-wise, the D66 Eggos seem to be the best choice for closed headphones, so do you guys think it'll be wise to trade my SR60 and KSC35 for a D66?

FYI, the eggos are not totally closed and leak a little bit of sound. For a lot less money, try the Sony V6, which has more isolation and less sound leakage.

No.

If you're going to do a trade for a closed phone, get a real closed one.

How does the sound quality of the V6 compare with that of the D66?

I agree. My recommendation is sell the SR60's, buy the V6's, and keep the KSC-35's for lightweight/portable use.

The KSC35's are great. However, I realized something I never considered when I purchased them. I have relatively small ears and they fall of pretty easily no matter how I place them, which is one of the reasons why I'd like to trade for D66's.

D66 has smooth, well balanced sound. D66 has been know for very clear mids/highs, but kinda lacking bass
V6 has been knos for having "harsh" hights and deep deep bass

for portable use i vote for the D66

Are there other closed headphones that I can get by trading in my SR60 and KSC35?

I'd recommend the ATH-A500's I find their sound superior to that of the Eggos, and are also driven quasi-easily by portable equipment, as a plus, they're only 10 dollars more, and don't mess up your hair as much

(you might have to turn down the bass a little bit for the sound to sound it's best)

After some thread searching on these headphones, I think the Eggos' sound quality is more similar to that of the SR60's. To me, clean midrange is more important that powerful bass, so I'm leaning towards the Eggos right now.

Does anyone that owns the Eggos feel this?

eggos dont really leak sound...you can listen to them above advarge volume at a libary without letting people hear your music...
i have both D66 and v6, V6 do blocks out more sound due to closed design...but hey dont sound as natural as eggos..

also...eggos were designed for portable use...they have some isolation but lets enough sound in for safty...so if someone'z talking to you, you will kno they are talking to you but you cant really hear what they'r saying
