What is the best portable player for a car? Aux connection or any other suggestions are welcome. Planning on adding all music into it.

Are portable audio players good for a car?

Some car stereos let you play Bluetooth. For others you'd need to go from headphone jack to Aux-in. You should investigate your car's stereo.
Also, think about what kind of display is best while you're driving. You don't want to drive off the road to find a song.
Personally I wouldn't splurge on a DAP for the car. Road noise and engine noise are going to limit how much nuance you'll hear. You might as well just play music from your phone into AUX or Bluetooth.

Depending on your car & situation, it might also be worth installing an aftermarket head unit with android auto / apple carplay integration.

Depends on whether you want to use a car audio processor to get past the car being a car but not being a McLaren F1.
If you have a 3.5mm jack on the head unit, an old phone that stays charged via the lighter power will be a fine car player (and free).
If you have a USB port or bluetooth support, same thing. Also that a phone even without a service plan can make a 911 emergency call. Nice to have that in the car at all times. If you turn it off it won't drain the battery charging. Even an old phone can hold a good sized FLAC music library.
