BTW which headphone would you say have a brighter sound, D-66 or CD3000?

CD3000 without a doubt--not only more extended in the highs but also more forward. The CD3000 also featured a more neutral (although kinda annoyingly sterile) tonal character compared to the D66 when I had them.

Thanks, I guess I can remove CD3K from my possible future upgrade list as it doesn't sound like it's what I'm looking for at all.
