I have both im616 and im716 IEMs and was going to order filters and tips from AL, but I see that the web page for parts is no longer available. I sent customer service an email. I'll see if I get a reply, but does anyone know if filters are still available? The tips are not as important, since I understand that Shure tips will fit.

unfortunatly, they are not available,
etymotic has moved to make their own "gaming and casual" series called EDGE acustics,

as for altec lensing, they have a contract with ultimate ears to sell rebadged versions of the metro.fi 2 and the super.fi 3.

i guess that its a matter of checking if ER4 or ER6 filters fit your headphones,

actually, i might be wrong, altec still lists the IM716 and 616 on the website, and newegg still lists them, so you should call them and check,

Yes, and Amazon still has them, but the spare parts have been removed from the AL site. I don't have a response from my email yet. I'm not too hopeful. The only good thing is that I still have both sets of replacement filters that came with the 616 and 716. Maybe if I keep my ears clean I won't ever need them.

Amazon never had spare parts for them. The filters from ER4 or ER6i definitely will not fit. They had to be purchased from Altec Lansing - I never came across any other source. I'm moving totally away from all IEMs and bought two packages of the filters - but they should/must be sold along with the two pairs of de-podded iM716 that I'll be having for sale.

One other thought - check those vendors who currently have iM716 for sale - perhaps they would have stocked some spares. No harm in trying.

******** at altec lansing. I'm never buying anything from them again.

Their complaint department 1-866-570-5702, which I believe is just voice mail.

"parts were depleted". When I asked, so what am I supposed to do with headphones that need filters. They said you're basically out of luck, at which point I asked if they are saying I have headphones that are useless and I need to buy new headphones. CS rep basically says, I didn't say that, if you want to put words in my mouth...blah blah blah...and go on e-bay.

It depends how bad people want im716. IMO, the bottom just dropped out on the used market @ head-fi. I'd rather spend my money buying another brand.

and the herman kardon EP730 ? they seem to be similar,
the filters could match,

another issue is saving a few bucks buying rebadged, the problem with rebadged products is that tommorow the contact is over and your support is gone.
