Are Cardas cables cheaply made?

The Cardas recable on my 650, makes contact static noise if I move it whiling listening to my phones..Not all the time, but enough to bother me..& I bought Cardas mini to mini cable, & was listening to my phones, & somthing didn't seem right..When I twisted the cable, It's like it doubled the sound volume, now I turn the cable to get the best connection possible..Seems silly for the prices they charge..

Could it be the connectors on your equipment?

As far as the quality of Cardas is concerned, I think they offer a warranty. However IMHO those fancy boutique cables are snake oil anyhow.

Cardas Cables are of good quality.

Clean your connections with Caig Deoxit 5, then coat them with Pro Gold/Deoxit Gold.

That will most likely cure your problems.

I just wrapped a little teflon tape around the connector body(the part below the contact pins) where it plugs into the headphones. Works great! I wish Cardas would switch to the type of connectors on the stock 650 cord.

Cardas has a Lifetime warranty. Call them if you think you have a problem but before you send them off, you might want to check these things out first:

The problem in your 650's may be the spring connectors insider the 650's not making a good contact with the pin connectors on the plug. It's been discussed many times, you might want to do a search for it. Edit: Here is the link to the Sennheiser repair you should look at.

Likewise for your mini cable, it could be the jack in your amp.

Or like kwkarth suggested, you could simply need to clean your connections.

I have sold Hundreds of the mini cables and have only had a problem with 2 of them. Cardas is one of the best built cables out there IMO.
