Are all Grados as non-isolating as the SR60s?

I have been doing some extensive listening to Sennheiser 497s and Grado SR60s in an effort to see which "house sound" I am partial to. I can easily see the differences in them, but do enjoy both immensely. One of the things that bothers me most about the SR60s is their COMPLETE lack of isolation. Do the higher end Grados let external sound in at a similar level?

Yup.

Yes, but compared to the K1000 they are isolating very well.

Yup... some are brighter and more forward than the SR60 so they tend to obliterate outside noise if you turn them up.

True - I'm never bothered by outside noise when wearing my Grados probably because I run them a little loud, but they sound so good at 11

Other people probably aren't as happy, but I don't really care - they're listening to good music, after all

Sounds kind of dangerous!

I already have trouble with the brightness of the sr-60 being tiring. Guess I won't be trying any of the higher end models in the line.

Dont be so affraid.... IMHO the SR225 (for one) packs more sub bass extension than the SR60. IMHO the mids are smoother too. So... While some are brighter there are certainly some that are warmer at the same time. You just gotta demo each one and compare.

where are you listening that it matters? i guess if you have a noisy dorm or something.

regardless, i would reccomend to get a set of higher end grados, an sr 325, or ms2 (or the allegedly improved variatnts) should do you very well with bass extention. they also have an overall "smoother" sound as you go up and up and up.
