No, they are still out of production....I would venture to guess that it's a not a very trustworthy site, but I may be wrong.

Today I've seen K501's sold for about 60$. Too good to be true...
The dealer you've found may just have some NOS K1K's. If you order 100pcs you'll most likely get less or wait forever until they find the requested amount.

Also tjust noticed that site doesn't take international credit card orders, but will take an international money order or bank draft. Highly strange and I ave never encountered an international seller willing to sell internationally while refusig to accept credit card or debit card as payment. Hardly the sign of a highly organised an professional retailer.

They indicate they have been in business 19 years.

When you put them in the cart you get an additional 1% off bringing total shipped to $965.24

I might consider these if it's true. My question is for those who own or have owned them, will they fit the same way as the 701s. I had to sell the 701s because they did not have enough height(conehead)? I'd hate to get them and not fit.

Ive emailed akg as to the likelyhood of these being genuine, wether the retailer is an authorised reseller and to the likelyhood of NOS stock of akg k1000 stil being in circulation.

I will cut n paste a reply as and when I receive one.

Sorry to waste your time lads, I just called them up ... It's totally out of date they forgot to take it down from their website....

No, the fit is quite different from the K-701. The temple pads are adjustable and they fit like no other headphone.

Sadly not!
I would love to pick up a K1000 (or 10) for their last going price of $395
