Any other fans out there? They'll be playing at the WAMU theater Sept. 29th in Seattle...should be an amazing show if it's even close to the last one I saw on May 5th at the Showbox.

Anywho. Who else is a fan? If you haven't heard of them you should listen to their two albums

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not - wonder how long it had taken them to think that up.

Not a fan of them, all those sort of bands sound exactly the same at the minute, off-putting..

enjoy the show.

Yeah, there are a lot of Libertines-inspired bands right now, and not all of them deserve all of the attention they receive, but in my opinion the Arctic Monkeys stand above the rest with their grit, energy, and willingness to push their sound in different directions.

x3 Bands like that are ruining a genre I love.

I'm a fan of their first album. Not so much their second. As for sounding like every other British band, they sound different enough from other modern British rock acts. Sorta like telling the difference between Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam. Most people can't tell the difference between Mozart and Beethoven, but obviously those two styles are quite different. It's just a matter of being familiar with the music.

I've been thinking about these guys and other bands like them lately. Finally I've come up with a name for them: Hotdog Cover Bands

They take the floor scrapings of older music / genres and turn it into "new" music, except for the fact that its terribly executed.

I also put Jet into this category, can't think of any others at the moment.

Sorry to be such a hater (I'm not normally), just felt the need to share my revelation.

i would not use any of those descriptors for this band.

maybe "catchy".

I personally don't find them to be the most innovative band of all time, but I had a good time when I saw them live last summer at a rock festival. I had never heard them before but their performance was energetic and fun. I personally thought it went on a bit too long since most of their songs did sound just about the same to me, but I was also about 1,000 people back from the stage at that point.

Have fun at the show!

I haven't really heard much arctic monkeys. But I've heard "From The Ritz to Rubble" on Pandora and I love that song. I think I really need to buy one of their albums.
