Has anyone figured out why this unit makes a hum, which is especially noticable when used with an amp. Has anyone figured out how to fix it?

sorry, i ment to say my archos juke box recorder... It's a harddrive mp3 player thing, with a 20 gig drive, and a recording feature.

I noticed my Jukebox 20 hums, too, but it doesn't bother me much, since I hardly use an amp. Are you using the Archos firmware, or the Rockbox, because the Rockbox will lessen the hum noticeably.

To the other guy, what's the rockbox stuff? I use the latest firmwares available from archos, where can I obtain that?

Rockbox is an independent firmware upgrade for the Archos. You can download the lastest build from rockbox.haxx.se

No problem . Try the Archos with the Rockbox, not only does it improve the sound, it increases your battery life, increases volume, and then some. A tremendous improvement over Archos' firmware.

Just to comment, I now have the RockBox firmware installed.


I actually like my archos now : ] The noisy sound is gone, and the OS is actually great! I can naviagate dir's fast, and it's a vast improvement as of prior. Thanks for the recommendations, I am happy now!
