Got mine from a member here. I bought my first from Azynneo, and my second from Purk. Contact Purk-I know he has a used one to sell right now. Tell him I sent you and to give you a deal.

hmm, what's the introduction price of the ec leviathan? kind've curious to do some searching on it.

  3. BournePerfect
It was a limited one run only thing. :/ There's about 10 of us in on it-and just 5 of us who opted for the Tango transformers. The 4 2a3s aren't included, so final cost of everything is roughly 6K.

If you're interested, the EC 4x2a3 is essentially the offshoot of the Leviathan project-and *should* come pretty close soundwise. I think Craig's intro price on those are $3800 (not sure if tubes are included)-and he may have already sold out of the introductory 10 units...

holy hell 6k, now that I cannot afford even if I wanted it :p. Honestly, if I had an extra 6k I might just shoot for the 009s.

  5. BournePerfect
I justify it cuz it will also power speakers. Craig claims it's the best speaker amp he's ever built or even heard. Thought the LAu was up there in price?? Oh jeez I just realized you said the Glass lol. How much was that.

    OT: Eximus rocks everybody!

it's like 3500 or so msrp

and...... studio monitors for me please :D

back on topic: the volume pot on the eximus has too big of steps but each step is quite well balanced :D

My bad-I was under the impression it was in the 4-4.5k range. I've always wanted to try a Cavalli-but they are supposedly overpriced for what you get-though the Glass seems to break that trend...I've heard it's one of the best for the HD800s-plus you're paying for stellar build quality as well-often worth it imo...

as of this moment, my hd800(sold it for the time being) is on hiatus while I'm still trying to make love to my lcd-3 (LOL).

  9. BournePerfect
Nice-I wasn't overly impressed by the LCD 2.2, but still might try the 3 someday. Have you tried it straight from the Eximus? I know leeperry REALLY loves his Yamaha Ortho straight from the DP-1, and it actually has decent power into lower impedance cans...worked awesome for my TH900 and AD2000-not so much with the HD800s-but not half bad either.

Ima be honest, in comparison to the LG that I stick it in. The 3s sound abysmal out of the eximus. I'll give it another try tonight but not sure if it'll change my mind about its HPA.

That reminds me-the Pro Logic+ Pro 2900 gave me perhaps the most incredible 3D experience I've ever had in a game. Great headphone (despite the Ultrasone bias around here) for it's price-an excellent all arounder. In fact I just might buy it again now that I have the DP-1 again.

I actually have my 3's up for sale now because no matter how good it sounds, it gives my left ear way too much pressure that honestly I think I need to go get it checked out / flushed.

I may get a gaming headphone just so I can hear that solider shooting his rockets behind me in tf2.

  13. BournePerfect
Give the Pro 2900 a shot-I find it ridiculous for gaming at it's price-great bass for single player stuff. I'd stick with the HD800 for multi. T1 has an incredible knack with both movies and games too. K702 is like a mini-HD800 for MP gaming as well. The Eximus is at the heart of all this though.

Here found this thread about the Monarchy DIP combo. I am planning to put this between my transport and the Eximus DP-1.

    What is your transport?

It looks like a cheaper and better featured Synchro-Mesh.

If you can do USB Audio, a DDC would be a better buy now (John Darko tested the Synchro-Mesh with the Squeezebox Touch with fine results but it was some times ago and since then he uses USB-SPDIF bridges with no looking back).
