April fools, but why?

In the 16th century they changed the New Year to January 1st from April 1st. Those who still celebrated on April 1st were deemed fools and others played tricks on them. Is the old New Year directly related to Pagans? I don't know.

i blame the christians.

that and new years really should be september 1 don't you think?

just as a consequence of me being in school for the last 18 or so years. it feels like the year always starts for me around september.
