Appropriate interconnects from Ayre QB-9 To WA 6 SE?

I'm sure others will chime in with what works for them, but for me, it's Van Den Hul, particularly their cables that focus on transparency the most -- D102III, The First Ultimate MKII, The Thunderline and The Orchid. You can pick up the first two off Audiogon for fairly sane (<$200) prices. IMO, the $200-400 price range is about where you get a significant difference without hitting the law of diminishing returns, especially if you buy second-hand. There was a good point made, however, in another thread, about having the option to return cables if you can buy some from a local hi-fi store. That way, if you perceive no difference, you'll have lost nothing.

I absolutely love the van den Hul the First Ultimate. A wonderfully natural sounding cable letting lots of details without the artificially highlighting of mid-treble.

If I might ask, where did you get the QB-9 from? And please report back on it when you get a chance to listen!

I purchased it from Stereo Exchange in NYC. PM me if you want me to give you the details of my salesperson, who I highly recommend. (Who was recommended to me by a great head-fier)

Thanks, I'm supposed to be getting one to audition from a dealer here in Boston, but their allotment hasn't arrived yet. Glad to hear they are out in the wild though!

They already had their first one but another head-fier got it. I'm entitled to their second and I'm expecting it early next week.

Do moon audio Silver Dragon V1 interconnects seem like they'd be too low quality for this system? Any preference between silver dragon v1s and pheadphile blackgold rcas?

I just upgraded from Nordost Red Dawn to Transparent Music Link Super. IMO, it's worth every penny.

About selecting, I think it's on the personal preference. If you have a large local hi-fi or audiophile shop, you should go and try out all cables.

and go back home to get used one from a-gon.

There's a good review here of some Transparent cables. More importantly than reviewing the cables, it makes some common sense points about buying cables in general.

Thanks, that really helped me out. At the least it would have helped me reword the thread title by asking

Best guess at which interconnects will balance money/performance/synergy with Vista->Qb-9->WA 6SE with Iron Lung Power -> LA 7000's.

I'm pretty much looking for $300 and below ($50 would be nice) to start with, there's no way I would drop over $300 on IC's unless I knew they were pareto optimal.

Really, there's no such end state. Even among the subset of cable true believers, the gradations are tiny and apparently mostly dependent on personal taste. A good place to start is probably somewhere sensible like Signal Cables.
