Appreciating beautiful music out of the stax 2050

I'm a man of limited means but consider the 2050a combo a bargain. I'll keep it for many a year. Maybe it lacks a little power, but for the price it's a great intro to Stax and beyond. Kenwood KH K1000 keeps me more than happy for closed listening when needs be although warmer sounding than the Stax.

I was gonna sell these suckers to fund my purchase for an exceptional amp for my hd600s but now that I got them connected at the same time through the dac out of my laptop with my hd600 glite combo I am finding out that these are actually a smidge better to me than the hd600s. The way I think of it is ive already spent more money just on the amp for the hd600 than the entire 2050 system... what is the point in spending thousands more for an amp for these cans just to edge the budget stax. Why not just get the hd800s and start from there for my dynamics.

Bottom line again... The 2050s are a heck of a great system for the price!
