I ordered at 08:30am yesterday, and I remember it specifically listing the case and remote as accessories. I better get 'em.

well i guess i dont feel AS bad anymore - since that's 80 bucks of junk they aren't including, the 100 bucks off equals to the new pod being 20 bucks cheaper, with incremental improvements. but since i don't use the carrying case anyhow (i use a podskinz) i guess that's 40 bucks wasted anyhow.

I was under the impression that the price was the same even with the accessories dropped.

Wow you really lucked out then. I hope you get the accessories. I remember checking early Monday morning and the 40GB didn't have the remote or case.

On the older models
15GB-$249
20GB-$299
40GB-$399

The 20 and the 40 include the remote, dock and case. Of those, the dock is the only thing I use and even then it's not critical.

I do want the increased battery life though and have ordered the 20GB. The older 3g pod is going to go on ebay and I will end with my mini and the new 20GB

Judging by the pictures on www.pcmag.com, though the size is getting closer to the mini. HMMM

That's such a cheep trick man. A $400 gadget and they won't include remote. From the pictures it looks as if one can use the old g3 accessories. I don't care to much for the case as it's pretty crappy anyway.

What gets me is they bundle the remote with a pair of headphones, so when I ordered my 40 gig yesterday I added the remote, so now I'll have 2 pairs of useless headphones!

By the way, if you qualify for the educational discount, you can get the 40gig and the remote for $404, this is what I did.
