Looks like there is going to be an upgraded version of the AP80 Pro; the AP80 Pro-X. https://www.hidizs.net/p/ap80-pro-x

It seems like the size has changed a tiny bit from 61x56x13.8 to 61x54.5x13.8. It also uses the upgraded ES9219C DAC, which is the same as Shanling's M3X and will now unfold MQA 8x rather than 4x like on the regular AP80 Pro.

Besides that it appears everything is the same from the regular AP80 Pro, same 2.45" Samsung screen, Bluetooth 4.2 etc...

Hidizs assured also a longer battery duration, if I am not wrong. Which whether true in the third AP80 version (special material ones apart) could testify a optimization work on new circuits and implementation.
I like AP80pro sound and its power and dynamics paired with DH80 amp. My best commuting gear. Looking forward to test the new one

i seemed to get about 12hrs off my ap80 but only about 10hrs off my ap80 pro

ap80 claims 15 hour play with 30 day standby

ap80 pro claims 13 hour play with 50 day standby

ap80 pro x claims 13 hour play with 40 day standby

on their site. which is weird.

also i think my ap80 crashed less then my pro, and had a faster more responsive feel. but i cant remember forsure since i havnt used it in over a year

RIP my ApP80. The battery swelled so much it popped the back cover off.

Had to dispose of it before it became a more serious issue.

This is literally what I'm dealing with right now.

It started swelling way back in early 2021 but I just ignored it. Now the battery life has become very bad. Only now did I contact Hidizs to buy a spare battery replacement, that is if they even have any.

Still useable though, I just have to make it shut down after 5 minutes to conserve battery life.

AP80 Pro X looks like a small upgrade, I wonder whats the power output and price. It's a shame they didn't update the old Bluetooth.

they should discontinue the ap80 pro, since it has been superseded by the pro X

What do you guys think of the RB3 Pro Saber? Is it an upgrade to the AP80?

i like it

but it has headphone cable ontop which i might dislike

i might buy one in a few years

along with the 1TB lexar play micro sd card which is down to like 180$ cad

I dont mind the cable placement as long as it sounds better less metallic. I was not familiar with the Lexar SD Cards, they are very premium price but fast it looks like.
