Was it Gates or Jobs or some other dude?...that said cellphones with mp3 capability will replace portable DAPs, and it's only a matter of time. I'm not too big of a fan of the idea myself, but I can see it happening with more and more advanced tech.

I think it would have better if the jack was incorporated in the body of the adapter.

yeah, not crazy about that either. at least the length of the connector is shorter than I anticipated.

regarding convergence, as long as each function performs well [phone, camera, dap] I am all for it. It's just something that appeals to me instinctually.

doesn't have to be about how the cost would compare vs buying all three devices, or whether I want to carry all my music with me.

i know many head-fiers could care less, but for those interested:

it is def official now: U.S. SE has the counter up for the w800i on its home tab

link

and they have this up at on the promotions tab:

"The hottest phone of the year is on its way

Mobile magazine called it “the world’s sexiest phone”---the phone that lets you take your music everywhere. Please welcome the Sony Ericsson W800, the mobile that combines the classic features of a camera phone with the best in digital music technology.

Starting August 26, the phone will be available for purchase in Sony Style stores at a list price of $499. Or you can order it online at the Sony Ericsson eshop.

Check the online directory to find a Sony Style store near you."

it's on y'all

congrats on having the k750.

if the prices for k750s were dropping as i hoped in my earlier post in this thread i would also be going for it now that the w800's release is imminent.

should the approximate $100 price gap between both cells remain, the w800 is the better deal because of the larger memory stick + better headset.
